Ellen: Hey everybody, I'm Ellen here etrailer.com and we're taking a quick look at the GSI Outdoors Bugaboo square pan. This is a really nice lightweight pan that's going to allow you to cook just about anything and make the most of your space on your outdoor grill. Anything that is circular, you would only have so much room and you kind of lose out on those corners. So this is going to help to maximize that space a little bit. It's also again, still lightweight, but durable enough to take with you. The handle folds out pretty easily and should be a great addition to your camping cooking set.So I'll take a closer look.
I'll give you some measurements to get an idea of the size of the pan itself. So again that handle, it's just one of those squeeze and flip type. So pretty easy to use, easy to snap that out. And once it's in place, it's pretty sturdy. It doesn't completely eliminate movement, but I think it'll do a pretty good job.
There's a rubbery coding on the end of the handle. Now, if you're going to be over an open fire, maybe you're over just like a campfire or something like that, this handle could get pretty hot and I have seen some folks say that this can start to melt a little bit. So you really want the fire to be underneath the pan itself rather than the handle, but just something to keep in mind there. So as far as side to side, outer edge, the outer edge is about 10 and five eights of an inch. And same on the other side. With the handle coming out, it's about 16 and a half inches long whenever it's folded out. Flip that over, and now the length is about 11 and a half inches.
The height to the top of that is about two and a quarter. The depth of the pan itself looks to be about an inch and a quarter. I'm sorry, it's more like. Let's just say an inch. It's about an inch and an eight tall for just the pan height there.Weighs about a pound and a half.
So it should still be pretty lightweight for your pack and gives you a lot of space to cook up your favorite meal while enjoying the great outdoors. It is an aluminum construction with a nice nonstick coating. It is a Teflon coating so you should be able to use it for years without having any issues with sticking. That's pretty much it for our quick look at the GSI Outdoors Bugaboo square pan. I hope this has been helpful in deciding if this is the right one for you. We do have a lot of other kitchen camping gear here etrailer.com and all kinds of other good stuff, so be sure to check it out. Thanks for watching..
